Bug Juice Camp Drink

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 16-20 servings 1x

Description

This nostalgic bug juice camp drink is a vibrant, sweet-tart beverage that’s easy to prepare and loved by campers of all ages. Made with colorful powdered drink mix and customizable extras, it brings summer fun to any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packets (0.13 oz each) unsweetened powdered drink mix (grape, cherry, or blue raspberry)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 gallon cold water
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • Optional: 1 can (12 oz) frozen juice concentrate (orange or pineapple)
  • Optional: 1 liter lemon-lime soda
  • Optional: Fresh fruit slices (oranges, lemons, berries)
  • Optional: 1-2 drops food coloring

Instructions

  1. Select a clean, pre-chilled container with at least one-gallon capacity.
  2. Pour in drink mix packets and sugar. Add 2 cups warm water and stir until fully dissolved.
  3. Slowly stir in the remaining cold water. Add optional juice concentrate or soda if desired.
  4. Add food coloring if needed and mix well. Chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. Serve in clear cups or jars, garnished with fresh fruit for visual flair.

Notes

For added hydration benefits, a pinch of salt can be included. To keep flavor strong, freeze extra bug juice into cubes and use them instead of regular ice.
